Our story
Fashion Impact Foundation grew from a simple belief: that the energy, confidence and connection created through fashion can be directed towards something meaningful.
Live fashion presentations bring together design, performance, photography, music, movement, production and people. They can create memorable cultural experiences, but they can also provide opportunities to learn, participate, volunteer, develop confidence and become part of a supportive community.
The Foundation was established to channel that creative energy for charitable benefit.
Our work now brings together three connected areas:
Create
We advance arts and culture by supporting fashion-led creative productions, artistic participation and opportunities to experience fashion as a living art form.
Learn
We provide education, skills and personal-development opportunities through pathways connected with fashion, photography, volunteering and live creative production.
Support
We support children, young people and families experiencing hardship or disadvantage through carefully directed charitable grants and community partnerships.
Together, these three pillars reflect our belief that creativity, opportunity and compassion belong together.
THE Journey TO FASHION Impact FOUNDATION
Key milestones in our history from Fashion Ball to the Fashion Impact Foundation
Fashion Impact Foundation is the latest chapter in a story that began more than 27 years ago. What started with a single fashion-led fundraising event grew into a community of businesses, creatives, educators and individuals using their collective energy to support others.
Along the way, the experience showed us that fashion could do more than raise funds. It could bring people together, build confidence, create opportunities, develop skills and connect communities. Those experiences ultimately shaped the purpose of Fashion Impact Foundation and the work we are building today.
These are some of the moments that helped bring us here.
05/1999
We launched the first Fashion Ball at Leeds Royal Armouries, a truly unique, one-of-a-kind event where finance professionals modelled to raise vital funds for charity.
05/2000
Secured powerful partnerships across business, education, culture and the community to create greater collective impact. Supporting diversity, inclusion and equality.
04/2002
Partnered with education authorities and organisations to involve students and young professionals. Providing valuable work experience, skills, confidence, connections and pathways into employment.
02/2016
A pivotal change in direction enabled us to support multiple charities across major UK cities, reach wider communities and involve more people, businesses and educational organisations in creating lasting impact.
03/2025
A defining milestone: after 26 years of fundraising and community impact, we established Fashion Impact Foundation to support charities across the UK through events, connections, partnerships and collaboration.
04/2025
After 26 successful years of fundraising, FB Fashion Ball moved to the iconic First Direct Arena, taking our vision to a bigger stage and creating an even greater charitable impact.
